FC 28 Corner Kick Tutorial — Set Piece Goals Made Easy

Near-Post Corners

The most effective corner technique in FC 28:

1. Aim: Point the reticle at the near post, slightly in front of it
2. Power: 2.5-3 bars
3. Control runner: Use right stick to control the player making the near-post run
4. Header: Time the header towards the far post or flick on

Pro tip: Use a tall player (Ronaldo, Haaland, VVD) at the near post. Their heading + jumping creates a mismatch.

Far-Post Headers

1. Aim: Beyond the far post — outside the 6-yard box
2. Power: 3.5-4 bars (more power than near post)
3. Player: Control a tall attacker running to the back post
4. Header: Aim back across goal — GK can't save these

Short Corners

Call a player short by pressing R1/RB before the corner. Then:

• Option 1: Pass short → dribble to edge of box → finesse shot
• Option 2: Pass short → pass back → cross into box
• Option 3: Pass short → trigger run → through ball

Short corners work best when your opponent pulls everyone to the goal area, leaving the edge of the box open.

Defending Corners

• Switch to GK: Press R3 to control your GK and punch the ball
• Don't pull players: Let the AI defend initially, only switch after the header
• Clear with Square/X: Always clear the ball with a lob pass, don't try to pass out
• Mark the near post: Manually move a tall player to the near post
